That feeling? It's called victory. Feels good doesn't it? Kind of strange, right?
I think we on the right are feeling what progressives and leftists have felt most every day for close to the last two decades. They've had all the major media, the actors, the institutions, everything, repeating what they think. Every hall of power resounded with words of accord with their thoughts and goals. People that said things they didn't agree with got fired. The world was in alignment, and for them, it was good. 2016 was a brief frightening shock, but the system adjusted and for four years, though Trump was President, their power only grew. It was their country. Their democracy.
COVID really was the height of their power. Looking back we can see that now. They used decades of accumulated institutional trust for one last big throw of the dice. Lock down and lock in the victory forever. For a bit there it looked like they had done it. They had arbitrary power over the large and the small. Minutia like what we wore, where we stood, and what we ate was within their purview.
But all that carefully husbanded power was expended for nothing. Some execs at Pfizer got richer, some new COVID safety sinecures were created at various NGOs and movie studios, but otherwise the height of their power was utterly wasted. They went too far, and after 2020 the great thaw began. Substack's big moment was 2020. During the COVID crisis it was one of the only places people could get useful information. Then they lost Rogan and most of the next-gen media. Elon bought Twitter and people could see other opinions again. Tucker left Fox News and started a incredibly popular Twitter channel. Other social media platforms, realizing they couldn't compete with the chaotic edutainment of Twitter, loosened up as well. Investigative reporters like Matt Taibbi started looking for dirt in the halls of power, and found much.
Meanwhile we were served up a string of incompetent failures so big they couldn't possibly hide them. The lockdowns. COVID policy, especially vaccine mandates. The Afghanistan withdrawal. Debilitating inflation. Astronauts stuck on space stations.
With the state-run corporate media outlets they could conceal the incompetence/malice. Explain it away. Every gaffe, every failure, was put in the best possible light. But each still left a nagging doubtful wound in them that no amount of propaganda could heal. Dissonance grew. The covering was stretched thin. But with the fragmenting media landscape they just couldn't keep up the cover up. Their supporters on the left desperately needed this cover up, because it meant the perpetuation of their victorious euphoria. But the results on Tuesday blew that all to hell.
Now it’s our turn to be victorious.
Many on the Right feel this is a false victory. They believe Trump was selected by this or that secretive globalist entity. Perhaps he was. But we must take what power we can get. Most of all, we must hope for a peaceful political solution. We should hope, and for now, trust. If in the future they prove unworthy of that trust, then we withdraw it.
Is this beginning of a great string of victories? We can only hope so. This was a political victory, a big one, but every other hall of power is still dominated by leftist fanatics and their fantasies. The victory must continue until it is THEY that feel like losers on a daily basis. Until it is THEY who see on every side a world that doesn't agree with them. When they watch movies, listen to co-workers, read media, always it will be the victorious right who dominate.
The norm should be what we believe, because what we believe is best for all - That all are free to be and to work and to speak as they please. Anything else is what losers believe.
We let a freakish minority gain power, and they used that power for evil. They used it for evil because they wanted evil. They were used BY evil because they didn't know how to use power. Now it is time for us to take that power and use it for their good.
It will be our democracy, in which they can freely participate. It will be our country, in which they can work. It will be our nation of men, women, children, comedians, engineers, farmers, fools, freaks, geniuses, artists. It will be the insane patchwork that is America. It will be beautiful. We will run the nation for good, for their good, and for ours.
Enjoy the feeling of victory, friends. May it abide and grow.
Do as thy will shall be the whole of the Law or you are Dead.
Decide.
